1. Look at the posters that have been produced to promote the Rio 2016 Games and use the link below to view all of the finalists. Create a poster promoting New Zealand (or a country of your choice) if the olympics were to be held there in the future.    Olympic Posters

2. Create your own Olympics Bingo game that can be played with your classmates. You could select a theme or a random collection of Olympic images/words from the games.
Possible themes:  Sporting logos (see example)
    Mascots over the years
    Host Nations/years


       
3. Use Wordfoto or Wordsalad
to create a word collage for the
Rio 2016 Games.

4. On a large map of the world, label each of the Host nations of the Summer olympics. You need to include the Name of the Host Nations, and the dates. You could create a code so you can use space wisely and read all the labels.


5. For the tourists visiting Rio to attend the Olympic Games, what other activities and destinations nearby would you suggest they visit and why?
Create a brochure or pamphet that they might find at an information centre - that inspires them to explore.

6. Using this image as a model, create your own torch artwork that integrates modern lines.


7. Design your own boardgame for the Olympics.
You will need to plan your ideas first. Consider…

What are the rules?
How does a player win an  advantage?  
What penalties are in place?
Will your design hold the player’s interest?

9. Create a cartoon

or comic strip with a funny Olympic theme.
